The Chameleons are fortunate in being able to present their
shows in one of the very best village halls in the area. Aspley Guise Village Hall dates from the early 1900s and has many attractive features from that period. It was built to last. But though it may be close on a hundred years old it has not remained unchanged throughout that time. There is an active hall management committee whose members have made, and continue to make, many improvements to the hall’s facilities without altering its inherent charm. It has a large paved car park, good kitchen and toilet facilities and in recent months has added a high quality sound system which includes a loop for the hard of hearing We have a Props Room on the premises - something that many groups would envy. There is a proscenium with heavy velvet tabs. The stage is small but, with a certain amount of ingenuity in set design, we have been able to mount some quite ambitious productions. Recently we have upgraded the stage lighting system with additional lights and a programmable DMX control desk. The Chameleons play an active part on the Management Committee and help to maintain and improve the Hall, not just for our own benefit but as a
valuable amenity for the whole village
community.
